Abstract in English: This thesis aims at shedding light on the Muslims of Greece and the initial encounter between Islam and this part of Europe, where historically it started on the island of Rhodes in the era of Muawiya ibn Abi Sufyan (may God be pleased with him) in 653. However, Muslims in northern Greece known as the "Western Thrace" had their own situation and specification in terms of the application of Islamic law as a legitimate juristic reference for Muslims, especially in personal and religious matters under the auspices and responsibility of the Grand Mufti. This research discusses the responsibilities of the Mufti that have multiplied from organizing marriage contracts, to making reforms on interrelationship, divorce, dowry, the right to maintenance and the running of the state. Others include the responsibilities of directing endowments, supervising mosques, electing and appointing imams, and managing private schools for Muslims from elementary to secondary. In this study, the researcher follows several methodological approaches, including the inductive method by looking at oriental texts, opinions and ideas in Greece and the analytical historical method to discuss the ideas and opinions raised by the orientalists of Greece about the Qur'an and its history. The researcher concludes that the Greek culture and civilization, with its oriental origin and composition, stood before the emergence of Islam as an apostolic crusade that did not accept Christianity to compete with another religion similar to that of the European countries. Finally, the researcher recommends providing opportunities to researchers in Islamic history and Qur’anic studies to learn about the history of Greek scientists and their contributions to the preservation of the identity and the Islamic community to reveal the cultural and intellectual heritage produced in this country. This can be done by providing methodological mechanisms for research and study.
