Title: | The mediating effect of akhlaq on the relationship between Islamic spirituality development programmes and Islamic workplace ethical conducts : a case study of UTM Kuala Lumpur | Authors: | Ismail bin Abd Rahman | Subject: | Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Ethics, Islamic Business ethics |
Year: | 2016 | Publisher: | Gombak, Selangor : International Islamic University Malaysia, 2016 | Abstract in English: | Islamic Human Resources Management suggests that proper HRD management would bring benefits not only to the organisations, but to individuals and the community. The motivation of this study is to assess whether Akhlaq is a mediator between Islamic Spirituality Development Programme on Islamic Workplace Ethical Conducts. Early studies have shown that spirituality in the workplace could increase work behaviour, work performance and career behaviour. However, this study would be the first to use Akhlaq as a measurement in analysing the impact of Islamic Spirituality Development Programme. The moderating effects of staff category, Islamic education background, and financial income between Akhlaq and Islamic Workplace Ethical Conducts were also selected to study the relationship. A structural equation model was developed and tested on 242 respondents from the University of Technology Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur using a self-developed questionnaire. Data were analysed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) and Partial Least Square (PLS). The findings conclude that there is a positive relationship between Akhlaq and Islamic Workplace Ethical Conducts and thatAkhlaq mediates the Islamic Spirituality Development Programme and Islamic Workplace Ethical Conducts. The results also reveal that there are no moderating effects of staff category, Islamic educational background and financial income between Akhlaq and Islamic Workplace Ethical Conducts. | Degree Level: | Doctoral | Call Number: | t BPH 96 I86 2016 | Kullliyah: | Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences | Programme: | Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration | URI: | http://studentrepo.iium.edu.my/jspui/handle/123456789/3600 | URL: | https://lib.iium.edu.my/mom/services/mom/document/getFile/YmNWazVgpAioTqW0fpVA8lKC6hYYYBV920170106151732760 |
