Abstract in English: The study deals with the roles and the duties of the shariah advisors in Islamic banking in Malaysia. It will analyse the provisions of the law in Malaysia on the shariah advisors in Islamic banking institution. This study has embarked on the premise that the law on shariah advisors of the Islamic banking institutions in Malaysia is sufficient. This study hope that the effectiveness of the shariah advisors in Islamic banking in Malaysia can be enhanced through the recommendations observed through the finding of this study. This study also hope that the citizen of Malaysia will become more aware about the role and function of the shariah advisors in the Islamic banking industry so that they can use all the Islamic banking products confidently without any hesitation.
