The writer aims to assemble the Quranic verses which mention the story of Abraham, and interpret these verses thematically. This will benefit preachers in their Islamic missionary work on the one hand, and help to foster a dialogue with other religions, especially the people of the Book; the Jews and Christians, on the other hand. In this study, the writer also analyses the interpretations of the Koran and the data in history which discusses Abraham (pbh). The writer also compares and analyses the information from both Islamic and non Islamic sources about Abraham, with the intention of reaching the truth about Abraham and his teachings. Besides that, it aims to benefit from his history the effective skills of attracting others to Islam nowadays. This study reaches a number of conclusions, amongst them are: - Allah prepared the Muslims, through Abraham the foundation of preaching especially in terms of the criteria of preachers, the conditions of the called people, the methods of preaching and the topics discussed in preaching. Allah put Abraham to many tests which included sacrificing himself and his family for His sake. - The "soft method" in preaching is the best and foremost step in Islamic preaching. Abraham did not resort to hard way of preaching except after the called people determined to continue being infidels. So, there was no other way to preach for the oneness of God. By looking at his life, the preachers have to prepare themselves to face the opposition of the called people in their preaching to God. - There are various methods of preaching which were used by Abraham, based on the various groups of the called people, We can see that Abraham used the most suitable for each group of the called people using wisdom, good advice and conduct as well as reasoned debates and arguments. The preaching of Abraham plays an important role m the dialogue with other religions especially the heavenly religions, as a basis for discovering the right side of the Abrahamic teachings as a part and all prophets' teachings as a whole. It is because all of the religions respect the prophet, and grant him an exalted place in their religion to the extent that some of them -claim the prophet as the follower of their religion.en_US
