Abstract in English: This study aimed to analyze the role that Social Responsible Investment sukuk (SRI) could play in achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) in Libya, the study also analyzed the Libyan environment and its ability to accommodate sukuk in order to identify the priorities of SDGs that are achievable in Libya and to Investigate different views regarding the categorization of SDGs and its effect. It also aimed to propose a definition of SRI Sukuk, categorize its components, assess similar financial assets and then identify its advantages and disadvantages. In addition, the study examined the factors that enabled Malaysia to achieve sustainable Islamic financial capabilities. The researcher has adopted several qualitative methods that are suitable for the research questions and objectives. These include the inductive method to describe and analyze SDGs data of Libya in global reports and other secondary sources. The study has found that Libya provided only the data of 73 indicators out of 244- a percentage of 29.92%. Looking into this data, the study found that some of this data is either incomplete or incoherent. The goals 10-6-4 have the least amount of data available. In addition, in the available data, 80% of the economic indicators’ data and 60% of the environment indicators’ data do not have a clear direction. The study also found that SRI Sukuk could play a significant role in Libya if it is used in projects that are more likely to achieve goals No: 1. no poverty, 4. Quality education, 7. Affordable and clean energy 8. Decent work and economic growth 9. Industry, innovation and infrastructure
